Eastern Cape Premier, Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane has recommitted the Eastern Cape Provincial Government to the process of developing Dikeni (former Alice) to a university town status in honour of the legacy of legends such as the twentieth century academic, author, song composer, journalist, and religious leader, Reverend John Knox Bokwe.
The Premier said this during his keynote address at the Provincial Human Rights Day commemoration, which was held at Ntselamanzi Location in Dikeni recently.
The ceremony also honoured the legendary Bokwe, who has contributed tremendously in literature and the establishment of great institutions such as the University of Fort Hare, amongst others.
