Eastern Cape Premier Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane handover Small Town Revitalisation Projects.
Eastern Cape Premier, Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane has recently handed over Small Town Revitalisation projects, in EmaXesibeni former Mount Ayliff in the Alfred NzoDistrict Municipality. EmaXesibeni in the Umzimvubu Local Municipality is one of the towns that have been targeted for development in the Province.

One of the projects handed over is the electrification of EmaXesibeni streets aimed at reducing crime by improving lighting in town and surrounding areas.
The project focused on replacing 78 x 35W single wooden pole streetlight with 73W LED light fittings with steel pole; and replacing the existing low voltage aerial bundle conductor with underground cables to modernize the electrical system.
Other projects include the upgrading of EmaXesibeni internal streets, and surfacing of roads leading to and within EmaXesibeni Cemetry as well as the construction of a guard house and ablution facility building in the cemetery.
The handover event preceded by a walkabout to inspect the projects.This is part of Eastern Cape Provincial Government s commitment through the Office of The Premier, to focus on the revitalisation of its small towns in order to boost Local Economic Development (LED) and Provincial GDP
