To support youth-driven initiatives and promote creative entrepreneurship, the Eastern Cape Provincial Government's Isiqalo Youth Fund, operating under the Office of the Premier, has provided Amahomba Entertainment with R400,000 worth of essential recording studio equipment. This is a significant milestone for the growing record label and events management company based in Mdantsane.
The new equipment, which includes active studio speakers, monitors, mixers, and microphones, will enhance Amahomba's ability to deliver high-quality music production, multimedia services, and event support throughout Buffalo City. This support from the Isiqalo Youth Fund underscores the Provincial Government's commitment to empowering young entrepreneurs by providing the necessary resources to turn their potential into success.
Founder Siyasanga Zwakala expressed his gratitude, stating, This equipment is a game-changer for us. With it, we can offer even greater opportunities for young artists in our community, helping them refine their talents and pursue their dreams right here in Mdantsane. We are immensely thankful to the Office of the Premier for their support and dedication to youth-driven initiatives, which empower us to build a stronger and more vibrant creative economy in our province.”
Amahomba Entertainment has a significant impact on local youth. The business operates with five permanent staff members and four casual workers, making it a catalyst for positive change in the community. In addition to music, Amahomba supports various artistic endeavours, creating sculptures and drawings, as well as repurposing recycled materials into unique, sellable art items. Some staff members are also hired as entertainers for local events.
This initiative is part of the Provincial Government's efforts to enable young men and women to actively participate in stimulating the province's socio-economy. A key aspect of this initiative is the continued distribution of youth funding through the Isiqalo Youth Fund.
