Premier Mabuyane Hails Launch of R270 Million Herolim Private Hospital as a Beacon of Hope for Mthatha

Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane has praised the inauguration of the R270 million Herolim Private Hospital in Mthatha as a significant achievement for the region's healthcare sector.

The advanced facility, located in Callaway, Mthatha, aims to provide high-quality medical services to underserved peri-urban communities, bringing about a transformation in the province's healthcare landscape.

During the inauguration, Premier Mabuyane highlighted the hospital's substantial impact on the local community, stating, "This hospital signifies hope and progress for our people. It demonstrates our dedication to prioritizing the health and well-being of our citizens, ultimately improving their quality of life."

The hospital features 76 beds, including specialized units for surgery, maternity, paediatrics, and intensive care, with plans to expand to 130 beds. It is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as a catheterization lab, pathology lab, and comprehensive radiology services.

Herolim Private Hospital commenced operations in March 2024. This important development also facilitates specialized training for medical students from Walter Sisulu University, enhancing local healthcare education.

Quinton Zunga, CEO of RH Managers, expressed pride in contributing to the health and prosperity of Mthatha. "Our mission is to extend private healthcare to peri-urban areas. Herolim Private Hospital is a vital part of this vision."
