The Eastern Cape's successful live animal export to Kuwait, valued at R206 million, showcases the province's growing prominence in global agriculture industry. Premier Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane's leadership played a pivotal role in this milestone, which marks the province's prowess in international trade and agricultural innovation.

The shipment, consisting of 56,000 sheep, 1500 cattle, and 200 goats, signifies a milestone in South Africa's livestock export sector. The partnership between the Eastern Cape Provincial Government and Al Mawashi has generated significant economic benefits, with over R460 million injected into the provincial economy.

The export initiative aligns with the goals of the African Continental Free Trade Area agreement and aims to expand farmers' access to Middle Eastern markets. Premier Mabuyane's active involvement underscores the government's commitment to economic development.

The Premier was accompanied by key officials including the MEC for the Department of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform, Nonkqubela Pieters, representatives from Agri Eastern Cape, and executives from Al Mawashi SA (Pty) Ltd.
