Eastern Cape Premier Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane, together with the Disability Economic Empowerment Trust, has launched Public Employment Programme for Persons with Disabilities recently. The launch is targeted towards celebrating and acknowledging the progress made by government together with other stakeholders in the inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in the Public Employment Programmes. This is also an effort to recognise their participation in skills development programmes as funded by the Provincial Government. It is intended to demonstrate the impact of the successful programmes funded and implemented in the province. Futhermore, the launch is part of government's ongoing efforts in implementing publicly financed long-term investment programmes that directly create employment opportunities through productive activities for Persons with Disabilities.
