Mbhashe Local Municipality Municipal Manager, Mr Mkhululi Nako, has ramped up efforts to accelerate infrastructure delivery following an extensive oversight visit to major projects in Dutywa and Willowvale this week.
The strategic site inspections form part of the Municipality s strengthened monitoring programme aimed at eliminating delays, enforcing accountability and ensuring that public funds translate into visible community impact.
In Dutywa, Mr Nako assessed progress on the Taxi Rank refurbishment, which will improve commuter safety and trading conditions, as well as the construction of the new Arts and Craft Centre, a catalytic development set to promote local heritage, tourism and creative industries. He also inspected the Vehicle Testing Station project, designed to enhance road safety compliance and service accessibility, and reviewed upgrades at the Ward 1 Sports Facility, where improvements will boost youth development and recreational opportunities.
In Willowvale, oversight focused on the Town Hall refurbishment, which includes structural repairs and modernisation upgrades to revitalise the civic facility and attract greater community use. The visit also covered the Street Block Paving Project in Extension 1, targeting key roads to improve accessibility and driving conditions, as well as the Alien Clearing Project aimed at restoring the environment and improving long-term water sustainability.
Speaking during the visits, Mr Nako reaffirmed the Municipality s commitment to delivery excellence, stressing that proactive on-site monitoring is critical to keeping projects on track and ensuring quality standards are met.
The oversight drive signals Mbhashe Local Municipality s firm resolve to fast-track infrastructure development and deliver tangible, sustainable improvements to communities across the region.
