The Eastern Cape Provincial Government (ECPG), together with the Bhisho Massacre Foundation commemorated the 30th anniversary of the 1992 massacre that left twenty-eight civilians, one soldier dead, and more than 200 people injured.
These heroic men and women were shot dead by the then Ciskei Defence Force, during a protest march from King Williams Town to Bhisho. Yesterday, family members and friends gathered at the Bisho Memorial and at the Good News Church in Qonce to remember their loved ones.
The Eastern Cape Provincial Government continues to work hand in hand with the Bhisho Massacre Foundation, to ensure that the legacy of these heroes and heroines lives on and that survivors and beneficiaries are empowered through socio-economic development.
