LUBABALO OSCAR MABUYANE

EASTERN CAPE PREMIER

In February 2018, he joined the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature and was appointed Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism, serving from May 2018 to May 2019. Following the 2019 general elections, he was nominated by the ANC as Premier candidate and was sworn in on 22 May 2019 as the Premier of the Eastern Cape.

As Premier, Mabuyane has prioritised infrastructure development, economic growth, improved service delivery and youth empowerment. His administration has overseen key provincial projects, including road and bridge infrastructure, healthcare facility upgrades and education development initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and attracting investment to the region.
